Come Home to Barnert!

Worship

Our Barnert-style Shabbats have moved to Zoom and Hybrid gatherings.  We still join together for music and study and Shabbat breaths and friendship.  Check out our online calendar for our special musical Shabbats with incredible guest musicians as well as our themed Shabbats with guest speakers on relevant and important topics.

We look forward with anticipation to a time when it is safe to gather together in person.  Listed below are some of our in-person Shabbat experiences.

There are many ways to experience worship at Barnert Temple.  We invite you to try them and find your place!

Saturday

Here are some of the many ways we celebrate Shabbat on Saturday morning.  Check the Temple calendar for specific schedule:

  • Shabbat Service:  Celebrated when there is a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
  • Torah Study:  Weekly, join Rabbi Steiner as together we explore the Torah portion of the week. All are welcome, no prior experience required.
  • Rosh Chodesh:  Experience the rituals and spirituality of Rosh Chodesh, which marks the beginning of the new month.  Lead by our Director of Lifelong Learning, Sara Losch.
  • Shabbat Yoga:  Barnert leader and yoga instructor, Rachel Dewan, guides our yoga group in exploration of the Torah portion with peaceful movement.
