High Holidays For Young People
HIGH HOLIDAYS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Creating Jewish experiences that are relevant, accessible and meaningful for all ages takes on unique meaning for our families with young children and for our younger congregants. While children are welcome at all of our services, it can be challenging to have our children present during High Holiday worship. To help meet the special needs of our families and children/pre-teens, we offer a range of options (listed below).
These programs are funded entirely through your generous donations. Please consider a monetary gift. Any and all donations are appreciated.

Young Family Service (Up to Grade 2)
Rosh Hashanah: Monday, September 30 at 9 a.m.
Yom Kippur: Wednesday, October 9 at 9 a.m.
This family-friendly service is designed for kids up to grade 2 and their parents/grandparents/guardians. The 30 - 45 minute service makes the themes and messages of the High Holidays relevant to younger and helps our younger members develop positive impressions of High Holiday worship. Parents/grandparents/guardians are expected to stay with their children. Advance registration is NOT required. However, all adult attendees must have tickets.
Torah Tots (Ages 2-4) & Kavanah Kids (Grades K-2)
Rosh Hashanah: Monday, September 30 at 10:15 a.m.
Yom Kippur: Wednesday, October 9 at 10:15 a.m.
Open to Barnert Members Only
Torah Tots and Kavanah Kids are to designed to provide our younger children with age-appropriate holiday activities while their parents/guardians attend adult services in the main sanctuary/library.
- To ensure proper supervision, register by Friday, Sept. 20.
- Children who are not pre-registered will be checked in last and, therefore, their entrance cannot be guaranteed. We will not accept more children than we are staffed to handle.
- Children under the age of 2 are welcome when supervised by a parent/grandparent or babysitter.
- All children should bring a nut-free snack and water bottle in a lunch bag. Make sure your child's name is clearly written on ALL items.
We know you appreciate Barnert's security measures and our need to maintain decorum in our hallways. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
