Come Home to Barnert!

Shabbat Worship, Rabbi Scheffler Installation, and Potluck Dinner

Friday, December 2, 2022 8 Kislev 5783

6:30 PMSanctuary & Social Hall

- SCROLL DOWN TO RSVP -

An installation recognizes the sacred relationship between a rabbi and their community and the commitment to building that relationship over the years to come.  It is a moment of joy and celebration!

We hope you will join us for this special evening as we install Rabbi Eliza Scheffler as Barnert Temple's Assistant Rabbi.

Special Guest:
Rabbi Matt Green
Congregation Beth Elohim (Brooklyn, NY)

It is customary for a new rabbi to invite a teacher or rabbi with whom they have studied to participate in their installation ceremony.  Rabbi Scheffler has invited Rabbi Matt Green, Associate Rabbi at Congregation Beth Elohim (CBE), where Rabbi Scheffler served as a Rabbinic Intern.

Rabbi Green will deliver the d'var Torah and will join Rabbi Steiner and key Barnert leaders in the installation ceremony.

Celebratory Community Potluck Dinner:
Immediately Following Shabbat Service

We celebrate so many holidays and milestones with special meals, and this event will be no different!  At the conclusion of the installation ceremony, we'll fill our social hall with a celebratory potluck dinner.  We hope you'll join us and fill our space in joyous celebration!

**We have adjusted the start time of the Shabbat service and installation to 6:30 p.m. to make it easier for all ages to join us for our celebratory potluck.**
