Barnert Temple Preschool is a vibrant place full of happy, smiling children. Our kids love to learn and our staff are happy to be here. One visit to our school and you will see and feel what we are all about. Below are some recent photos from our preschool. We are often so busy at our events, we don't do a great job of capturing them on film. However, we hope these online slideshows give you a glimpse into life at our school. Enjoy!

A DAY IN THE LIFE...
Barnert Temple Preschool is more than just a school. Here, we help children develop a lifelong love for learning and a sense of pride in their Jewish culture and heritage. Becoming part of our preschool means you are part of a community. We hope that joining our preschool is a first step in your family's relationship with the Barnert Temple and Jewish community.
Take a peek into the day of a Barnert Temple Preschooler. We hope you enjoy the happy, smiling faces of our kids as much as our staff do on a daily basis! |

BTPPA'S ME & MY SPECIAL GUY EVENT
Each year, the Barnert Temple Preschool Parents Association (BTPPA) hosts an event for the "special guys" in our kids' lives. The morning's activities are designed to let the kids share a fun-filled morning with with their guys on their turf - school!
This year's event and beautiful spring morning included a scavenger hunt on the school grounds and planting seeds in pots decorated with a photo of each kid and his/her guest. The morning wrapped up with some of the kids' favorite songs. |

PRESCHOOL HAMANTASCHEN BAKERY & PURIM SHPIEL
To celebrate the joyous holiday of Purim, the preschool held a hamantaschen bakery for the kids and their parents. All kids were invited to come to school dressed in their finest costumes and make homemade hamantaschens. The kids spread flour on the tables, rolled out hamantaschen dough, and filled their triangular cookies with all sorts of yummy filling. A special thanks goes out to our wonderful teachers who prepared the large volume of hamantaschen dough for the kids!
While the hamantaschen baked, our preschoolers and parents gathered in the sanctuary for an animated and creative telling of the Purim story (a.k.a. Purim Shpiel). The wonderful narrating talents of Sara Losch and singing talents of Sheldon Low brought the story to life. Barnert Temple knows how to tell the story of Purim! |

FANTASTICS (PRE-K) ANNUAL ART GALLERY
Each year, the Fantastics (Pre-K) class works on an extensive art unit. The children learn about a variety of artists and their styles of expression. The children have the opportunity to create their own pieces of art based on the styles of the artists they study. This special program, created by head teacher Nan Sumner, allows the children to not only learn about art, but also to explore their own styles of expression and creativity.
At the end of the unit, the children and teachers open a fabulous Art Gallery using the students' works of art. Parents and family have the opportunity to walk through the halls and classrooms and explore the beautiful artwork, led by the very capable docents (a.k.a. our Fantastics students). Every year, this is a highlight for the parents and kids. It is truly a very unique experience for both. |

PJ & HOT CHOCOLATE DAY and
SARA LOSCH'S 50TH BIRTHDAY
Each year our preschoolers get to celebrate Sara Losch's birthday, but this year was extra special. To honor our school director's 50th birthday, the kids (and staff) celebrated with cozy PJs, hot chocolate, waffles and a magic show!
The kids had a great time and Sara had the chance to celebrate her special day doing what she loves - spending time with kids! In addition to the festivities, the children created a birthday book to honor Sara and the staff and parents made contributions to charitables organizations and Barnert Temple funds to honor Sara's birthday. The day was truly memorable for the kids and Sara. Happy birthday Sara! |

LADIES NIGHT OUT - MIDDLE EASTERN NIGHT
The Barnert Temple Preschool Parents Association (BTPPA) hosted a successful Ladies Night Out event. Middle Eastern Night featured Israeli wine, Middle Eastern food, and belly dancing. The evening was designed to offer our moms a chance to socialize outside of the chaos of daily drop offs, pick ups and playdates.
The evening was a great success and has has set a high bar for our next Ladies Night Out event. A big thanks goes out to our adventurous event organizers who took this on, came up with the idea, and turned the concept into reality! |

BARNERT TEMPLE PRESCHOOL CHANUKAH PARTY
Each year, the Barnert Temple Preschool Parents Association (BTPPA) hosts a Chanukah party for the preschoolers. The kids attend with their classmates and enjoy making yummy treats and crafts to help celebrate and honor the Festival of Lights. The entire school and parents then come together for a lively session of singing and dancing. The party is always a lot of fun for the kids (and parents) and help "kick off" the holiday of Chanukah. |
