THE BARNERT TEMPLE PRESCHOOL & FAMILY CENTER:  WHERE CHILDREN LOVE TO LEARN!

Welcome to the Barnert Temple Preschool & Family Center! We are so excited to be celebrating our 20th year of providing dynamic and creative programming for Jewish children in northern New Jersey.

As you can see from our name, we are more than just a school. Under the enthusiastic guidance of our director Sara Losch, the Barnert Temple Preschool has helped children develop a lifelong love for learning and a sense of pride in their Jewish culture and heritage. Becoming part of our preschool means you are part of a community. We believe that raising and educating children and instilling a sense of pride in Jewish culture is a collaborative effort of parents and educators working together. We hope that joining our preschool is a first step in your family's relationship with the Barnert Temple and Jewish community.

For 20 years, we have consistently provided a nurturing and creative environment that allows children to discover their own unique learning style.  Our teachers, programs and overall philosophy also emphasize the need for children to develop the social skills necessary to be successful as they progress through their academic careers.  Teachings about Jewish religion, culture and history are integrated into various aspects of our programs.  The hope is to help children feel a strong sense of pride and excitement about their religion, culture and heritage.  All of these elements come together to provide our children with the programs and environment to grow academically, socially, creatively and spiritually.

A key part of our success has been our ability to adapt to the changing needs of our children and families.  This year we will be incorporating Spanish language and culture into all of our preschool programs.  We are also implementing a nutrition program designed to help parents and children make more-informed choices about the food they eat.  The preschool and Temple are also working together to build a unique outdoor learning center that will allow our children to use nature and gardening to learn about the environment, nutrition and a variety of other academic areas (i.e., math).  As you can see, at Barnert Temple Preschool, our children learn the importance of caring for the community, the environment and themselves. 

Our Programs
The Barnert Temple Preschool offers programs for children ages 15 months to 6 years of age with a newly revitalized Mommy & Me program, full-day kindergarten, kindergarten enrichment and our fabulous preschool classes. We believe we have a premiere preschool program. The happy, inspired and enthusiastic children who walk our halls every day are the best proof of our success.
