BARNERT TEMPLE High HolidayS 5782/2021
Once again, we find ourselves saying that this year's High Holidays will be like no other. Last year brought us the challenge of reimagining traditions and customs in totally new ways. This year, we celebrate the ability to, once again, gather in person. However, the need to address unique safety challenges related to COVID are still central to our plans and decision-making.
Planning for High Holiday worship and observance with a multi-access model (blending in-person and remote access) is no small task. We have seen how quickly the COVID landscape can change, and protecting the safety of our community while maximizing our opportunities to worship and celebrate together is our goal.
Our current plans include in-person High Holiday observances in our Sanctuary and outside under a tent. Services will also be livestreamed for those wanting remote access.
COVID SAFETY POLICIES
Given the evolving landscape of COVID, our policies for the High Holidays are subject to change. The information below reflects our plans as of now, and these plans are subject to change. Updates will be posted here if/when they are necessary.
1. Masks will be required for everyone attending indoor services, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are optional for vaccinated individuals but required for unvaccinated individuals joining us in the tent or on the lawn.
2. We are limiting our indoor seating capacity to approximately 50%.
3. Every person - adult or child - joining us in person will need a ticket. This includes those with tent and lawn seating. Tickets will not be automatically sent to our members in good standing this year. You must request tickets to receive tickets, and must be a member in good standing.
4. Ticket holders will need to complete a COVID screening questionnaire prior to attending in-person services or programs.
We aim to be as transparent as possible with you as we head into the High Holidays. We'll update this page and communicate directly via email. We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience, and we hope for continued good health and safety for all.
